The brewery brews a variety of beers and features several wheat beers and many more.

Weihenstephaner describes Hefe Weissbier as “Our wheat beer is the most widely recognized product of the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan. This premium, naturally cloudy, pale amber what beer is truly a feast for the senses. “

Our Review of Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier

I have had four beers from Weihenstephaner, their Vitus strong wheat beer, their lager, Pilsner and 1516 Kellerbier. All of these were fantastic. The lager may be the best basic lager I have ever had. I have now tried several lagers and pilsners from a number of German breweries, and while all have been very good, I find that I have preferred the lager over the pilsner at each brewery. The difference has generally been the difference between a 20 IBU and a 30 IBU and I prefer the less hoppy beer.
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is also an excellent beer, but I found myself wishing I was drinking their lager. It certainly was smooth, refreshing and drinkable, and I did not taste the hint of banana, but it was just too light to pair with my grilled chicken dinner. When I finished it, I wanted more and opted to open up a lager to follow it up. Hefe Weissbier may be better as a refresher on a hot day by itself.
