The Non Alcoholic Beer Market
Partake Brewing is a brewer of low calorie non alcoholic beers like Blonde. The non alcoholic beer market has grown rapidly in recent years with the introduction of non alcoholic beers that taste more like regular beer. Non alcoholic beers have several health advantages over regular beers, including fewer calories, sugar, carbs and of course, alcohol. Non alcoholic means less than 0.5% alcohol, so non alcoholic beers can still have traces of alcohol.
Athletic Brewing is the current market leader in non alcoholic beers with an approximate 19% market share. More and more specialty non alcoholic breweries like Partake Brewing are entering the market, as well as traditional breweries. Not a day goes by without some news story about the rise of non alcoholic beer and societal trends towards reducing alcohol intake.
Partake Brewing
Partake Brewing started in 2017 in Canada. They only brew low calorie non alcoholic beers. Partake brews 8 different non alcoholic beers at this writing, including IPAs, Blonde, Mexican-Style, Pils and limited edition beers. They name their beers exactly what they are “IPA,” “Blonde,” etc. without getting fancy, and all beers are 30 calories or less. Partake distributes beers in the United States and Canada.

Our Review of Partake Brewing Blonde
If you read our post about ProofNoMore, I bought 35 single non alcoholic beers to try. I started with non alcoholic beers from large well known breweries and followed that up with craft breweries. Then I moved on to non alcoholic breweries, starting with Athletic Brewing Lite, which was better than expected. Many of these were very good and barely discernable from beers with alcohol, but some were downright bad. I bought three to try from Partake Brewing, starting with IPA and Pale. Both were incredibly good given the 10 calories and 0 carbs (IPA)/4 carbs (Pale).
The Tasting
The Partake Brewing IPA and Pale allayed my fears that their beers would all taste watered down. The next question is whether Blonde would be as good.
It was very good, very drinkable, low calorie and low carb, but not quite as good as IPA and Pale. I would still drink this over many non alcoholic beers, but Partake IPA and Pale set the bar so high that Blonde, while drinkable, is bland in comparison. Of the three, I prefer Pale due to the lower 22 IBU (versus 53 for IPA), but I believe most beer drinkers, especially those who like IPAs, will like IPA the best. Pale is drinkable enough that lowering the IBU to 18 for Blonde sacrifices too much in taste. Somehow it also increased the calories from 10 to 15. Overall, I am very impressed with Partake Brewing and will try some of their other beers.
