The Non Alcoholic Beer Market
Partake Brewing is a brewer of low calorie non alcoholic beers like Pale. The non alcoholic beer market has grown rapidly in recent years with the introduction of non alcoholic beers that taste more like regular beer. Non alcoholic beers have several health advantages over regular beers, including fewer calories, sugar, carbs and of course, alcohol. Non alcoholic means less than 0.5% alcohol, so non alcoholic beers can still have traces of alcohol.
Athletic Brewing is the current market leader in non alcoholic beers with an approximate 19% market share. More and more specialty non alcoholic breweries like Partake Brewing are entering the market, as well as traditional breweries. Not a day goes by without some news story about the rise of non alcoholic beer and societal trends towards reducing alcohol intake.
Partake Brewing
Partake Brewing started in 2017 in Canada. They only brew low calorie non alcoholic beers. Partake brews 8 different non alcoholic beers at this writing, including IPAs, Blonde, Mexican-Style, Pils and limited edition beers. They name their beers exactly what they are “IPA,” “Blonde,” etc. without getting fancy, and all beers are 30 calories or less. Partake distributes beers in the United States and Canada.
Partake Brewing Pale
Pale is one of Partake Brewing’s best sellers. The brewery describes the beer as “a delicious blend of fruity and floral hops that infuse the brew with bright flavours of orange zest, grapefruit, and a hint of pine. It’s dry on the palate and finishes with a crisp taste.” Partake Pale has an “Okay” rating on Beer Advocate.
Partake Brewing Pale has 10 calories, 22 IBU, 4g carbs, 0g protein and 0g fat. It is vegan but not gluten-free.
Our Review of Partake Brewing Pale
If you read our post about ProofNoMore, I bought 35 single non alcoholic beers to try. I started with non alcoholic beers from large well known breweries and followed that up with craft breweries. Then I moved on to non alcoholic breweries, starting with Athletic Brewing Lite, which was better than expected. Many of these were very good and barely discernable from beers with alcohol, but some were downright bad. I bought three to try from Partake Brewing, starting with IPA, which was incredible given the 10 calories and 0 carbs.
The Tasting
The Partake IPA allayed my fears that their beers would all taste watered down. The next question is whether Pale would be as good as IPA,
To me it was. If you read Partake’s descriptions of the two beers, they are pretty similar. I prefer Pale due to the lower 22 IBU, but I believe most beer drinkers, especially those who like IPAs, will like IPA better. I again rate this beer very high due to the unbelievably low calories and carbs combined with the quality of the beer.
