Our Review of Oktoberfest

The only beer I have had from Sierra Nevada is Pale Ale, which is a universally highly rated iconic American beer. I have also tried many German Oktoberfest beers, which have all been extremely good to fantastic except for one. That one is most recent one I tried, the Trader Joe’s private label Oktoberfest Festbier that is brewed in Germany. In general, I prefer Oktoberfest Marzens over Oktoberfest Festbiers, but most have been very good except the Trader Joe’s.
Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest is another excellent beer. It was a pleasure to drink after having the Trader Joe’s Festbier. Like their Pale Ale, it is slightly too bitter for my taste, but most beer drinkers would probably not consider it bitter at all.
For excellent German Oktoberfest beer recommendations, try Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen, Ayinger OktoberFest, Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen, Spaten Oktobertfest UR Marzen and Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier.
