Park MGM Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is an MGM property marketed as “eco-friendly,” being the only casino resort on the Las Vegas strip to be smoke-free. As an MGM property, staying at Park MGM can earn points with an MGM Rewards card for discounted hotel rates, cash bonuses and other awards. We have stayed there once.
Park MGM Las Vegas – The Location
Park MGM has a great location on the Las Vegas strip. It is a short and inexpensive ride from Harry Reid Airport, right next to T-Mobile Arena and close to Allegiant Stadium. It is a short walk to New York New York and then pedestrian bridges connect to Excalibur and MGM Grand. Excalibur has a tram to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. MGM Grand is the endpoint of the Las Vegas Monorail that goes 3.9 miles to Sahara. Park MGM is the endpoint of the Aria Express Tram that goes to Bellagio.
You can get to a large number of hotels and attractions without needing Uber, Lyft or a taxi. The Park Las Vegas is an outdoor dining and entertainment district (including T-Mobile Arena) between New York New York and Park MGM similar to the Linq Promenade. Beerhaus at The Park is an excellent place for craft beers and sausages. Beerhaus is packed before Golden Knights games.
Amenities
Rooms at Park MGM are pretty standard for Las Vegas. Rooms are clean, shower pressure is good and room sizes are adequate. Hotel rates vary week to week, but Park MGM is one of MGM’s higher priced hotels. Prices can be as high as Bellagio and Aria, but sometimes they are a little below those two luxury locations. My biggest complaint (which is the same at almost every Las Vegas hotel) is that the mini fridge is reserved for products for sale. There is no place to keep leftovers or beverages cold other than the ice bucket.
We have not been to the pool, but from the pictures and description, it appears to be pretty standard like New York New York. The fitness center is small but adequate and there is a salon and spa.
The real selling point for Park MGM is the no-smoking policy if you are a non-smoker. One of the downsides of Las Vegas for non-smokers is the smoke. I am not even talking about inhaling second-hand smoke. When you come home from Las Vegas, all of your clothes can reek of cigarette smoke. This has improved over time as casino areas move towards non-smoking. The hotel has 2700 rooms, but it seems much smaller and less hectic than larger casinos like MGM Grand.
Restaurants, Entertainment & Gaming
Park MGM has many dining options like all Las Vegas resorts. The headliner is Eataly, an authentic Italian food court with several sit-down restaurants, “grab and go” food, desserts, bars and a convenience store. But watch the prices at the convenience store; we saw a six-pack of Italian beer for over $40.00. You can access Eataly from the casino, the strip or The Park. There is plenty of indoor seating and a small outdoor seating area too.
Park MGM has several entertainment and nightlife options but we did not take part in any except Beerhaus in The Park. There just seems to be more and better options at nearby New York New York and MGM Grand.
The casino is on the smaller size at 76,982 square feet and has all the standard games. There is no poker room. There are details at Casino. Again, we opted for the other MGM properties.
Park MGM Las Vegas – The Bottom Line
We like the Park MGM Las Vegas as an alternative place to stay in Las Vegas when looking for a somewhat quieter experience. The no-smoking policy is huge, and while the resort is not exactly small, it seems quieter and not as crazy as neighboring hotels. I stayed there while on business in Las Vegas for a trade show, and I believe that worked better for a trip when I was planning to lay low and keep activities to a minimum. If you are looking for a better pool area, we recommend MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay. If you are looking for luxury, there are a number of higher end Las Vegas hotels. But overall Park MGM is a good choice.
