Old Prague Premium Dark Beer Review
Old Prague
Old Prague is based in the Czech Republic and brews Old Prague Premium Dark. There is little available information on the brewery.
Old Prague Premium Dark
There is very little information available about Premium Dark. Old Prague’s website has information on Bohemian Premium Dark Lager, which may be the same beer, but it has a lower ABV (4.4% vs. 4.6%) than the US version. Old Prague describes the beer as “Old Prague Lager, the very popular dark lager beer, made according to an Old Bohemian recipe, is still produced in traditional open fermentation. The delicious taste, characterized by the pleasant sweetness and refined bitterness, determined by the mixture of Czech and colored malts, delights not only after good food.”
Premium Dark has a 4.6% ABV. There is very little other reliable nutrition information. The 4.6% ABV version has a “Very Good” rating on Beer Advocate.
Our Review of Old Prague Premium Dark

I previously tried Old Prague Premium Lager. It was a basic lager, a bit hoppier than expected, and mediocre at best. So I didn’t have high expectations for the dark lager. Much to my surprise, it was far better than expected. I even considered rating it a “5.” It had lots of coffee and caramel flavor and no hoppiness. It reminded me of another dark lager I really enjoyed, Hofbrau Dunkel. I would absolutely drink this again but skip the Premium Lager.
For another dark beer recommendation, try Hofbrau Dunkel.
