Every Monday night, Hellmuth’s Home Game presented by Poker Night in America (PNIA) and sponsored by BetRivers has aired on CBS Sports.
The nationally-televised show, which was filmed at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and airs weekly at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT until the end of 2025 (Note: the Sept. 18 episode will air at 9 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT), is unique in that there is no commentary. Instead, the show is carried by table talk from Phil Hellmuth alongside a cast of fellow pros and friends in an intimate, relaxed cash game setting.
PokerNews watched the latest episode – which was the seventh of the season – and compiled a recap of some of the biggest hands and interesting storylines.
Here’s how things stacked up at the start of the episode:
| Seat | Player | Stack |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Phillip Hellmuth III | $5,775 |
| 2 | Alex | $27,175 |
| 3 | Dan “Jungleman” Cates | $21,975 |
| 4 | Phil Hellmuth | $7,425 |
| 5 | Xuan Liu | $21,925 |
| 6 | Randy “3Coin” Sadler | $8,825 |
| 7 | Peter Costa | $6,825 |
The game was played with $25/$50 blinds with a $50 big blind ante. Here’s a look at some of the biggest hands from the episode.
“You Either Have a Set or Nothing”

In the first hand of the episode, Dan “Jungleman” Cates raised to $150 from the button with the 9♠8♠ and Hellmuth just called with the 4♥4♣ in the small blind. Xuan Liu came along from the big with her 4♦3♥ and it was three-way action to a flop of 4♠6♦7♣.
Hellmuth had checked dark, and Xuan checked behind.
“I know that doesn’t hit you, Phil. That’s all me right there,” Cates said before betting $200. “You either have a set or nothing,” he added after Hellmuth called.
Xuan then woke up with a check-raise to $800, Cates called, and Hellmuth paused for a few beats before making it $3,000 to go. Xuan quickly released and Cates, who had an open-ended straight draw, called to see the turn, which was the Q♣.
Hellmuth had $4,275 behind and moved it all in, which was enough to get the job done as Cates folded.
“You called it, I either have a set or nothing,” Hellmuth said before doing a little dance.
Cates Sets Up Alex

Alex raised to $300 from the hijack with the A♣K♣ and Cates three-bet to $1,100 from the cutoff with the 10♥10♦. Action folded back to Alex, and he four-bet it up to $4,500. Cates called $3,400 more and promptly flopped a set on the 10♠9♥A♠.
“It was a good flop for tens,” Cates said as he watched Alex bet $2,000. Cate called and the 7♠ appeared on the turn.
Alex moved all in and Cates snap-called off for $11,075. Cates asked how many times, but when the cards revealed Alex was drawing dead it was a moot point. The meaningless 7♦ was run out on the river and Cates was pushed a pot worth $35,375.
“He’s Not Evil”

3Coin called $50 under the gun with the K♣10♠ and Alex raised to $500 from the cutoff. Cates called from the button with the K♦7♦ and Hellmuth did the same from the small blind holding the 9♥9♣. 3Coin got out of the way and it was three-way action to a flop of 4♥A♦A♠.
Two checks saw Cates bet small, just $300, and Hellmuth called. Alex ditched his hand and Hellmuth checked dark before the 6♠ appeared on the turn. Cates bet again, this time $500, and Hellmuth called to see the A♣ river, which he checked.
“You got the aces, Phil? You got the ace, man? Got quads again?” Cates taunted before betting $4,100, which Hellmuth snap-called to win the $11,450 pot.
Hellmuth showed his hand right away, while Cates did not and instead put his head in his hands.
“He would not slow roll me, so I’ll collect the pot. He’s not a slow rollers, he’s not evil,” said Hellmuth.
3Coin Felted Part 1

With a straddle on, 3Coin called $100 from early position with the K♠9♦ and Alex xame along from the button with the Q♠5♦. Cates, who didn’t register his hole cards, called from the small blind, Hellmuth did the same from the big with the K♣J♥, and Xuan checked her option from the straddle with the 2♠2♥.
It was five-way action to a flop of 9♣2♦10♠ and three checks saw 3Coin bet $600. Alex folded, Cates and Hellmuth called, and then Xuan check-raised to $2,900. 3Coin responded by moving all in for $8,750 with middle pair, both Cates and Hellmuth folded, and Xuan called with her set to create a $19,250 pot.
3Coin was drawing thin, and then was drawing dead when the 7♠ bricked the turn. The meaningless 9♥ was run out on the river and 3Coin fist-bumped Xuan before she was pushed the pot.
3Coin Felted Part 2

Phillip Hellmuth III limped with the J♠10♦ only to have Cates raise to $500 holding the 10♥8♥ in the cutoff. 3Coin, who had reloaded for $10,000, looked down at the 10♠10♣ in the big blind and three-bet to $1,300.
Phillip folded, Cates called, and the flop came down 3♥4♥K♠. 3Coin bet $3,000 and Cates called with his flush draw, which he hit on the 5♥ turn.
3Coin moved all in for $5,600 and Cates insta-called to create a $19,925 pot. 3Coin was drawing dead headed to the river, which was the 5♠. Just like that, 3Coin was felted again.
3Coin Gets It All Back

The last hand of the episode was a real doozy and began when Cates raised to $150 under the gun with the J♠8♠. Xuan three-bet to $500 with the K♣Q♥ in the hijack and 3Coin called from the cutoff with the A♣J♦.
Action folded back to Cates and he called to see the Q♦K♥2♠ flop, which all three players checked. When the 3♣ appeared on the turn, Cates bluffed to the tune of $1,100 and Xuan just called with her top two pair. 3Coin liked the price to chase his Broadway straight draw, and he hit it when the 10♥ completed the board on the river.
Cates bluffed again, this time $5,000, and Xuan hit the tank before raising to $15,000. 3Coin called off for $14,325 and Cates quickly folded. Just like that, 3Coin was back in it, scooping a massive $38,575 pot.
Here’s how things looked at the end of the episode.

|---|---|---|
| Phillip Hellmuth III | $5,625 | -$9,375 |
| Alex | $21,625 | -$8,325 |
