The massive Grosvenor Goliath only concluded over the weekend, but players loyal to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) don’t have much time to rest and recuperate because GUKPT Luton, the sixth leg of the 2025 tour, begins on August 13. Luton is a proverbial hotbed of live poker, and several high profile players have left Luton as a GUKPT Main Event champion over the years.
As is often the case at GUKPTs, the festival kicks off with a £300 No-Limit Hold’em Opener. However, this edition has a twist because Day 1a and Day 1c, which start at 6:00 p.m. BST on August 13 and August 14, respectively, take place at the recently refurbished Grosvenor Victoria Casino. Players who navigate to Day 2 from these flights will head to the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton from August 17.
Following the £100,000 guaranteed Opener, GUKPT Luton features side events including a £250 buy-in, £100,000 guaranteed Mini Main, a plethora of satellites (mostly for the Main Event), a £250 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, a £1,650 High Roller guaranteeing £100,000, and the £250,000 guaranteed GUKPT Luton Main Event.

Team Grosvenor’s Calogero Morreale is the GUKPT Luton Main Event’s reigning champion. Morreale was one of 284 entrants in the £1,250 buy-in Main Event in May, helping the prize pool reach a guarantee-busting £296,770. After three days of intense action, Morreale emerged victorious, having defeated Zhichen Miao heads-up to claim the £56,720 and the second GUKPT Main Event title of his illustrious career.
Since GUKPT Luton first ran in August 2007, several household names have captured the Main Event’s title. Such luminaries as Richard Gryko, Neil Channing, Sam Trickett, John Eames, David Docherty, Tom Hall, Stuart Rutter, and Christopher Johnson all have a Luton victory on their Hendon Mob profile. Will you be joining the list of illustrious names when the 2025 edition crowns its champion on August 24?
